Calling All Photographers!
We are looking for new bird photographs and members to be featured in our publications, Birds of Nova Scotia page and on our website. For quality and organizational purposes, we will be using our Flickr account to host these images. Flickr is a free site where you can host and share your photos. To contribute and be eligible to have your photos featured, just create a Flickr account and upload the photos you want to contribute. Our Posting Guidelines
- Photos should be taken by you.
- Acceptable subjects are wild birds taken in Nova Scotia.
- At minimum, date and location are needed for publishing in Nova Scotia Birds, but additional info such as circumstances and behavioural notes, as well as EXIF metadata is a plus.
- Recent photos are more important to the group than older photos due to the quarterly nature of Nova Scotia Birds.
- Watermarks are generally undesirable, so if your watermarked photo is desired for publication, you may be contacted to provide a copy without watermark.
- Larger photos are desirable, as small photos may not reproduce well. Images should be at least 1000 pixels on the long edge.
