The Nova Scotia Bird Society is a charitable non-profit run entirely by volunteers. Donations and membership fees make what we do for birds possible.

Donations can be made through our website home page, Facebook page, or by contacting us: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Your gift for the future.

Leaving a “legacy” gift in your will to the Nova Scotia Bird Society makes you part of an exceptional community of donors helping to fund our ongoing work of education, conservation and the protection of birds here in NS and is a significant and lasting way to continue this work and achieve your philanthropic goals and wishes.

You can leave cash, securities or a percentage of your estate, we of course issue a tax receipt that can help decrease estate taxes, and if you are considering a planned gift we recommend you talk to your lawyer / estate planner to fully discuss all your options and the implications.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss this further.

Your donations go towards important bird-related projects, outreach, education and research. A few recent examples of projects we contribute to include:

  • Ian A. McLaren Memorial Scholarship
  • Wildlife rehab centers in Nova Scotia
  • Listening Together Project
  • Port Morien Wildlife Association lead poisoning awareness
  • Brier Island Boardwalk
